TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Every student comes to the piano with a different personality, interests, abilities, and learning style.  As teachers we embrace their differences.  We believe in bringing out their own unique and individual ability.  Our goals for each student is first and foremost that they develop a love for all types of music.  We want every student to see the beauty and find interest in not only modern music but music from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras.  It’s important for us as their teachers to show them the importance of music in the past and its affect on music today.  It’s important that all students not only love music but also learn to understand it through musical theory.  We want every student to be equipped with the knowledge of not only how to play a beautiful masterpiece but also the theory behind it.  Our goals are to have every student to play throughout their life because they were able to foster a love of piano under our instruction.
